XP System Overview
The XP (Experience Points) system is at the heart of ICQuests. It rewards users for completing on-chain actions in partner dApps and helps dApps measure real engagement.
How Users Earn XP
- Each quest has a fixed XP reward, set by the dApp partner.
- When a user completes a quest and passes verification, XP is minted to their profile in the ICQuests canister.
- Users can accumulate XP across multiple dApps and quests.
What XP Means
- For users: XP is a public, on-chain record of your activity and achievements in the ICP ecosystem. It can unlock future rewards, leaderboards, and status.
- For dApps: XP helps you attract and retain real users, and provides a transparent metric for campaign success.
XP Storage
- All XP balances and quest completions are stored on-chain in the ICQuests canister, mapped to user principals.
- No personal data is stored—only principal, XP, and completed quest IDs.
Tip: XP is the foundation for future features like badges and community rewards.
